Hi, we are Isi 🇯🇵+🇩🇪 and Adam 🇭🇺!
We are two passionate travellers who embarked on a one-year adventure around the world in November 2024. One whole year on the road filled with amazing destinations, kind locals, delicious food and breathtaking landscapes!
Now, we are here to share the very best of what we’ve seen with you. We want to inspire you and help you plan your next trip with our first-hand experiences and handy travel tips.
About this blog
With 50+ countries on our list, we consider ourselves very lucky to have explored many parts of the world already. For our world trip, we did a ton of research about each destination. We collected an insane amount of information and experiences and want to put it to good use.
We strive to create authentic content that truly represents our experiences. We do not use AI-generated content, and all the photos you see on the website were actually taken by us. We also tracked all of our expenses and will make them available as an encouragement – even a small pocket can get you pretty far!
Our travel style
In short: backpacking with comfort – as 30+ year-olds, we opted for affordable hotels with a private bathroom instead of hostels. We also stayed with host families on many occasions, which were especially exciting and memorable experiences. Every once in a while, we splurged on a more luxurious hotel.
While overly touristy bits cannot (and shouldn’t necessarily) be avoided, we always try to experience the local culture as authentically as possible and find the balance between tick-off-the-list and off-the-beaten-path. We are very passionate about food, so we didn’t cut corners here. We love trying the local cuisine of every region we visit and rarely cooked for ourselves on the road.
Giving back
We also managed to squeeze in a couple of enriching volunteering projects during our journey. These are a great way to give back to the community and learn about the culture, pressing issues and insights about the country. We stayed with local families, got to know many fantastic people and even enjoyed delicious home-cooked meals.
